We found this place after going for a sand dune ride. My daughter had the real California roll, made with real crab. I had a roll with ahi tuna. And my best friend had a chicken loaded taco. The vibe is amazing inside and out. With having been to Hawaii it made you feel like you were there. Fantastic food. Would reccomend to anyone.
This place is unbelievably good! My friends took me here to show me how special it is, and boy I was surely impressed. The food is off the charts delicious 😋. The atmosphere and decor is about as kooky as you would expect for a coastal beach like restaurant. However, this place took over what used to be the harvest cafe. Chef Christian and Natasha cook up unbelievable fusion Hawaiian foods that are always worth the wait. Expect a wait because food this good is well worth it. It always amazes me how the food that tastes this good and consistently comes out of that small kitchen. Try the Volcano Chicken, Ribs, and the Thai Mango Chicken is awesome. Tacos and burgers are great. Perfection every time. My wife and I plan lunch trips just to eat here. We drive 3 hours because it is always that good. So good!! I had the fish taco 🌮 and it was delicious, flavorful and satisfying with great presentation. One taco was a while meal! My boyfriend had a cheeseburger that was massive, delicious and full of flavor. The French fries with the burger were so good I ate half his French fries. The service was attentive, friendly and fast. Even though they were short staffed i didn't notice because our waitress was working so hard! I wish I could remmeber her name but she was wonderful. I would highly recommend this spot to everyone and we will absolutely be returning!
A fun upbeat place, filled with Hawaiian and surfer-dude swag. A vast and extensive menu with great sushi and Hawaiian classics. Don’t miss on the daily specials, we tried the Elk sliders….WOW! Decent bar and drink selection too. Sorry, forgot to get a photo of those. Check it out!!!
Stopped by as a suggestion to sell oysters and found out this place has sushi .. thirty years as sushi fan and had to order . Don't care what the cost of good food is. The eel looks amazing and tired of ugly eel at all the other places so had to order a roll with Eel . This one caught my attention and it's not cheap to the average sushi person . It's well worth it ! Multiple flavors attack your tongue one at a time ! It's beautiful ! Looks like it was alive and swimming once upon a time ! Can't wait for the banana coconut ice cream !!
Everything from the nigiri to the sashimi to their signature rolls to their cocktails were on point!! You could taste the care, passion, pride and love in everything. Place was popping so be patient with your order and also as soon as you walk in it is self seating so don’t stand around and wait to be sat. Vibes were a lot like Hawaii mixed with the Oregon coast. We had such a great experience at Pono Hukilau—this place truly delivered on every level. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, with that perfect coastal Hawaiian fusion vibe that just fits so well. The food was outstanding across the board. The kids’ fish and chips were a pleasant surprise—made with real rockfish, which you don’t always see on a kids’ menu, and it was done perfectly. Emma loved her sushi roll, and LaRue’s shrimp sliders were packed with flavor and cooked just right. I went with the panko fried prawns along with the Hawaiian pulled pork, and both were absolutely excellent—crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. Even the appetizer set the tone for the meal—it was clear right away that they care about quality. What really stood out, though, was the combination of great food and great service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable without being overbearing. Overall, this was one of those meals where everything just clicked—food, service, and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back, and it’s an easy recommendation for anyone looking for something a little different with really solid execution.

Since it was our first visit, they offered excellent recommendations that made our dining experience even better. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared with complex flavors that truly stood out. Every bite was memorable. And the drinks? Absolutely phenomenal! What makes Pono even more special is the story behind it. The owner is a military veteran, and the restaurant is family-run, which is reflected in the genuine hospitality and care you feel throughout your visit. This place is truly a gem in Florence. Kind service and a great vibe of restaurant for Florence. The clam chowder and sushi we ordered was fantastic. Highly recommend the Mac salad too. Fish and chicken was well seasoned and tender. The one item that was a disappointment for our group was the beef ribs on special. If the owner reads this I would reconsider having this on the menu. There was no meat on the rib. Overall, I will be back and am excited to try different items on the menu. Our group showed up around 4pm and had about a 5 minute wait for a table.
